Well, I did it. Bought the Mahindra 4550 with Fel and rear remotes. I also bought a 7 foot back blade & 6 foot brush hog. Dealer agreed to fill the rear tires with Rimguard and install a block heater. I looked at a lot of tractors and to me this was by far the best deal. The tractor is a 2015 model but new and he seemed anxious to move it. Ended up trading the New Holland TC 30 and a 5 foot Kingkutter brush hog plus $16,000. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm going to look at the Workmaster Monday. At 64 years old probably my last tractor. The TC 30 is a good tractor, never a problem but it takes me 20 hours to mow all my fields. Time to make life easier here.

Hey, I'm 64, turning 65 in a couple months. I figure I can wear out at least 2 more new tractors. Don't give up yet!!!! :)

Congratulations on the new tractor. You did fine. Your trade in and trade up was similar to mine. A 1720 New Holland for my Workmaster 50. Photos would be nice.

Well, I hope we can wear them out. Talked to a guy today who is 70 years old and he told me he just bought a tractor that was $70,000. Maybe I need to be more optimistic about all of this.

That's definitely optimism. :)

Congratulations on the new ride. Did you get the SD or HD cutter? I have a 5 ft Mahindra SD cutter but wish it was the HD version.

If by back blade, you mean a 6 way rear blade and not a box blade, I think that you will be far happier with an 8' blade.

Just my :2cents:

It's a rear blade and 7 ft. It was the biggest one he had in stock at the time. Hey, I was doing the driveway with Fel before this so the blade should be easier.

Ron, not sure what you mean by SD & HD. I need some education here.
