For the past couple of days, I have thought about starting a thread asking what we have today that years from now we'll wish we still had or could buy again. IDK, maybe a two stroke chainsaw or trimmer may be on the list?
Feel free to start a separate thread about that issue.

I reviewed the Stihl BR 800 C-E MAGNUM leaf blower over here. Its a beast!!! The gyroscopic force when I throttled it up would twist my trunk.

well I have a small yard to take care of, i bought a ryobi 40 volt string trimmer/ blower. I get 15 minutes run time with the trimmer... 4 amp battery, plus it heavy,, but really like the blower. for leaf cleaning (20 minutes run time on blower... wish i went for the toro 60 volt stuff. ps I've never had any gas trimmers, just the 120 volt corded ones. just sharing my homeowner experience with the ryobi 40 volt. ps just bought the ryobi 40v hedge pole trimmer, I like it, heavy but no cord , and the head adjust in 4 spots/angles so i can trim into round shapes on my hedges .

These battery power tools have two short comings; short battery life and higher weight. Having said that, these 18volt makita's saws we recently we picked up don't weght anything and there battery life is reasonable. (used for limbing and other small cuts)

Your camping neighbors probably appreciate that your electric saw is quiet.

There's a ban on moving firewood between counties that started in East TN because of the pine borer beetle that spread to middle TN. Most public campsites have been so scavenged for firewood that there isn't any. Used to be able to cut firewood at home and take camping. Now campers are asked to buy treated firewood which gets pricey.

Well, the backpack blower and pole-saw was running as well, but the next site was some distance away. We are uisng the baby sized saws for camp wood while in camp, then limbing when clearing sites. Kind-a-like a powered lopper.

Most states up this way prohibit transporting firewood across state lines, emerald ash borer is a bigger problem here. Didn't realize it had gotten to the county level in other parts of the country. Does this apply to commercial firewood sellers (ie-for home heating) too or just tourists/campers?
Quite the little cottage industry here...everybody and their brother selling small bundles of firewood to campers for $5/bundle, still cheaper than buying it from the campground.
