The local Kubota dealor is providing free delivery and $65. for pick-up and return for service. But if I choose to purchase a trailer what size and weight trailer should I get. I don't plan to use this tractor off my property. So the only trips I expect to make are for maintenance and warrantee service. I now own a 5'X10' single axel trailer, can I safely squeeze by transporting my tractor w/BH on this?

Any others out there with pix of your tractor hauler please post. Alse intrested how you secure your tractor to trailer. My friend hauls his L3400 without any tiedowns, he says he just go's slow.

Don't know what "go's slow" means, but at 30 MPH and you have to jam on the brakes becasue a kid runs out in the road, you might stop, but that Kubota is till going close to 30MPH. Wonder where it will end up??

No offense, but your friend is not smart. That is an accident waiting to happen.

I have a 20' car trailer that can double for tractor use. I have not used it to transport the tractor yet, but I would tie it down the same way as a car....an X pattern front and rear to keep the tractor from being able to move at all.

I agree with MOPAULY. Your friend is just looking to get a ticket for unsecured load. I'd say you need a trailer like the one in the link posted by DickS and it needs to be secured when hauling it on the road. The tractor w/ BH will overhang both ends of your 5x10 and not be safe. Based on the weight you technically only need two chains but I'd chain it at all 4 corners then chain the BH as well. Better to be safe.

The unfortunate thing is that your friend will take someone with him when the accident happens :(

It's the law that you need to chain your load.

I don't know how large your BX24 is but a single axle seems a little small to transport a tractor...unless it's a lawn tractor.

I wouldn't even think about transporting it with a single axle trailer for several reasons.
1. No brakes
2. No saftey margin if you have a blowout.
3. The load will bounce like ****
4. Did I mention brakes

We have some customers that carry the BX's on large single axle landscapes with full size trucks with only occasional use. I'd never suggest less then full size for this and I always recommend fastening the load.

WOW DickS, thats what I call a trailer. It's the mother of all BX 24 trailers. That's what I'm talking about. Thanks so much For the pix. I like your tie down straps. You gave me lots to think about. I did a search on Horse Creek MFG. located in TX but I could only find dealers in OK. Since I live in the Dallas area I wish I could locate them. I would like to here more on your bucket hook.

And to all the other replys, I will pass on your concerns to my friend. I agree with all your points.

I bought a 16' dual axle with brakes for my former BX23. It was the perfect size for it. I kept the trailer for my B3030 but it was a bit short (a 20' would be perfect). My opinion: I do not recommend a single axle without brakes. You could kill yourself or someone else. I chained mine at each corner and it was ok up here in Canada.

Too many people risk their life on public roads hauling anything anyhow and they risk the life of others in the process. Be cautious and ask no less from others.

As for your friend... I do not want to comment on that.
