Trailer for my PT425

Well, I bought a trailer to haul my PT425. Attached is a picture of it with all my stuff on it for placement tests. The only things not on the trailer are the snow plow and the slicer/trencher, just because I forgot them /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif There is still plenty of room for the plow next to either one of the fenders and room for a toolbox on the tongue. The big bucket has the little bucket nested insied it, as well as the pallet forks. The rear wheels are still about 3 feet from the rear of the trailer, so I could still move the tractor back and put something else in front of it.

Last Saturday I loaded up the PT425 on the trailer. I attached the large bucket and nested the little tooth bucket, pallet forks and soil slicer in that. Took it out to our property and loaded 3 yards of black dirt on the front of the trailer by just driving up the ramps and dumping it on. Worked well. Loaded the PT on the back of the trailer and took the dirt to the little league. I unloaded the dirt by driving right onto the trailer and scooping it up. The steel deck made it a breeze, although I was on a slight hillside to the left. It was enough to make the PT crab towards the downhill if I put too much down pressure on the bucket. I finally realized that I didn't need any down pressure as the bucket would just slide on the steel (duh). Worked great. I'd recommend this size trailer to anyone considering a trailer to haul there PT400 series.

David: I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention to your posts. What is a soil slicer? I ask because I just rented a so-called overseeder, which is a walk behind (or let go and run from) slit seeder, and which, as far as I can tell is good only to generate revenue for the rental company. If you're strong enough to move it at all, it deposits seed ahead of a powered set of discs, in uneven fashion. If you get it on a hill, get out of the way. The discs are powered, but the wheels aren't, and the only way to connect to the Power Trac was by lashing the handle to a lift boom.
So, suddenly I interested in ground preparing stuff for turf renovation, in case I'm silly enough to work on my lawn again next year this time.

Thanks for the update, you answered one of my questions when you mentioned that you were able to load material in the front of the trailer and still have room for the PT. That has been one of my hang-ups, I want a trailer to haul compost and dirt plus the PT with FEL.

The 24 foot car hauler did it well. I used some 2X12s and the stake pockets on the sides in front of the wheel wells and one 2X12 across the front. The 3 yards of dirt spread evenly between the 2x12s and mounded up in the center. The only thing that I need to do is put more tie down points along the sides of the trailer for anchoring ponts for the chains and straps. It was a little tongue heavy, but I could have moved some of the dirt towards the rear and still had enough room. I'm also considering welding some rings onto the corners of the PT for easier chain hook up.

I might be hauling some more dirt in the next few weeks for my father in law, so I'll try to remember to take pictures.
