Anyone know an on line store that sells lengths (24") of trailer hitch receiver tubing?

Do you want the inner or the outer? Be aware the outer 2.5x2.5 isn't just regular square tubing, the proper stuff has a .238 wall instead of .25 and has the inner flash removed....and really the correct inner tube has rounded edges, regular "square" 2x2 doesn't fit right either....

BTDT with getting the 2x2 with corners and also struggled with the outer part with flash in it...

Thanks for the locations. I need to clarify; I need the inner pipe that goes into the receiver tube. I want to make a longer piece that I can mount my ball to and insert it into the receiver tube that is on my FEL bucket, to move trailers around.

I use 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 3/16 wall. It is slight slop to it but it is cheeper. I get it by the 24 ft stalk. They will not obviously have that outer lip that a true receiver has, but that doesn't bother me. I have built bumpers and without that lip I was able to make it flush in the face of the bumper. Has a nice look to them. Just my 2 cents

These guys are not getting it, Go to your local steel yard and get a piece of 2"x2" x 1/4" wall square tube and drill a 5/8" hole in and your done.

If you lived around here, you could just come by the house and pick up a piece of the 2x2 that you need. I have a bunch of pieces of it, 42" long. Saw the need for it, and grabbed it while the getting was good.

These guys are not getting it, Go to your local steel yard and get a piece of 2"x2" x 1/4" wall square tube and drill a 5/8" hole in and your done.

I tried that true temper. The weld inside the 2x2 pipe made the inside diameter to small for my store bought hitch to fit into. I ended up having to buy a receiver pipe. I did check the fit before I cut up the 2x2 pipe so I'll still get good use out of it.

Better eyeball that HF receiver closely...several I looked at in the store had the dreaded inside welded seam flash, the ball mounts right next to them on the shelf woudn't even slide all the way in

2 1/2" heavy wall for receiver and 2" heavy wall for hitch. Both will have rounded outside corners if you get heavy wall.

See post number 4 in this thread- regular 2.5x2.5 with a .25 wall is not the correct stuff. Needs to have a slightly thinner wall to work well....

I want to make a boom pole and a long ball hitch to slide into the receiver I welded on my bucket. One piece about 4 foot and the other about 2 feet.

Was hopin you were closer. I can give ya a 2ft. piece,, but how to get it to ya is another issue. It would probably be easier for you to go to your local steel/metal supply . Just tell em what your looking for, and they'll take care of ya. Unless you travel up this way , then let me know, and I'll cut a piece for you!!
