Dargo,
I had made a similiar device for my use to move the camper trailer around and it is very handy to use with a utility trailer for huling stuff around. My trailer hitch thingy did not use the standard reese hitch specs, but worked the same way. I have removeable hitches on all of my equipment. Just keep a hitch in the towing vehicles. It makes it hard for someone to steal your trailer if there is no hitch on it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I like the no-crank hookup.
I am currently building another hitch thing for my 3 point with a 2 stage vertical hydraulic cylinder to raise the hitch ball about 3 feet high for dumping stuff out of my utility trailer. Good for spreading gravel.
I too am just making things to make my job easier and did not realize that the patented device existed until about a year after I had made mine. Oh well I am not selling them.
