7 leafs with an overload sound pretty heavy duty and as for the bounce , I have not seen shocks under a trailer it must not be a problem.
How heavy and what size is your trailer and do you have pictures of it
Jim:)

MrJimi I do not have pictures of it yet. I need to get some and post them. The trailer is a home made trailer with a HEIL 3 yard dump bed on it. It has a single axle with dual wheels.

A MC trailer is subject to the same dynamic loads. Difference being a much less mass, shorter trailer tongue, lower center of gravity, and the wheels may have a greater gyroscopic stabilizing effect.

Plus, a biker tends to look further ahead in time to dodge the hazards :D my big the fear is T-boning a left turner
You probably have a good point about the lower center of gravity. also the big difference is the weight. 3 yards of material could possibly weigh a lot more than a motorcycle.

I finally took a day off to work on the trailer. We took the axle back off and did our measureing then went and bought steel and the material we needed to put springs on it with. I am going to take all the excelent advice that I have been given on here and put springs on the axles. I bought new u bolts to mount with and I bought all hardened bolts for mounting the springs to the shackles. We got started on it this afternoon then I had to leave for work. so I will have to finish it on wednesday it looks like. I do have a question. One of the things we are going to do is to mount the springs under the axle. I reaize that is going to put the weight on the U bolts but if we mount them on top we are going to have the trailer pretty high in the air. mounting them under the axle is going to drop the height down by about 6 inches. I was looking at a tongue height of 29 inches with the springs on top. Then you have the entire load above that level. With the springs underneath it is down to 23 inches which is about the same level as my trailer hitch.
