Trailer toolbox

I bought a aluminum tool box at an auction for my gooseneck trailer to put some stuff in when I haul my tractor. I did not give much for the toolbox but would like to paint it black to match the trailer. Can I paint aluminum?

Clean thouroghly, coat it with aluminum primer, then paint away as you would any metal.
The key is the special aluminum primer if you want the paint to stay on.

Where can I get the primer at?

Any paint store, Auto parts or most hardware stores will have it in spray cans. Ask, They won't have it out visible as a large volume item.
I think the last stuff I got was for a robot's head and got it at the NAPA auto parts across the road from my office.
