Yes, most of our cars have the split turn/tail lites nowadays. The Toyotas, Nissans etc. have had them here for years. You have to install a converter (diodes) to blend the vehicles' 2 bulb lites( 1 one filament, 1 two filament) to the one bulb (2 filaments) lites on our trailers. All of older American made cars used the 1 two filament bulb for decades and I guess the trailer industry never did change to the new system.

I agree sounds like a ground issue. Trailers are like boats when something quits working check the grounds first. There are inline connectors for just about every vehicle available at autoparts store. They are much better than splicing into trucks harness. also the cheap little flat 4plug in test light tool is very handy.
