Trailering broken machine

If you mounted a small winch to the trailer, you may be able to pull the tractor up using snatch blocks as previosly mentioned. Remember that each snatch block will double the pulling capacity, but cut the line speed in half. I finally permanantly fixed this problem for myself by adding a 2" receiver to the bottom of my winch mount. This way I can hook the trailer to the front of the truck and winch straight up onto the trailer. 9000lb hydraulic winch makes easy work of loading non rolling stock:D

My tow vehicle is a 1 ton dump with dual 2" receivers on the back. Lower one mounts trailer, upper is for 12v winch. Simply run the cable down the trailer length & attach. Heaviest I have pulled up was a John Deere A about 6,000 lbs. Also have a front 2" receiver on the dump in case I need a different orientation. Power is off the dual diesel batteries.

I've had success pushing one vehicle onto the trailer with another vehicle. Just make sure the trailer is hooked up to the tow vehicle.
