Trailering the Bota

Lots of good advice... Now all you guys have me missing my gooseneck... Once you use one it is hard to go back to a bumper pull for any kind of load....

If you can't go with a goose neck (the best way) I would use a weight distribution hitch for a bumper pull. Using a half ton would be o.k. for short trips, slower speeds, and gear down the truck a lot when in hills. But if you tow it on a regular basis you will need a HD 3/4 or one ton.

So what did I do? I told another guy about the 7k trailer and he decided to buy it ! He's a friend so I offered to put in a third of the money if I can use it once in a while. It comes with a pintle hitch for 2" receiver (which I have), and a pretty zoot controller for the brakes (which we'll put in his Ford). I'll get one for my Chivvy.

So I guess that despite all the sound advice against it, I'll see if the Silverado's tranny will let any of its smoke out.

I'll probably only move my tractor once in a while - and not far. I'll post the results - from the hospital or jail.

Put the truck on the trailer and pull the trailer with the tractor!
