I just found this video showing the death of a bicycle rider. The bicycle comes from the left out of what seems to be a poorly lit area and appears to not have any lights on it although I cannot be certain about that...maybe he had a small one that just doesn't show up well on the video. It's a good reminder to drivers that we have to watch out for similar situations, and for bicyclists to make sure you are highly visible at all times.
when I road street bikes (still offroad ride) we had a saying "there are 2 types of riders those that have crashed and those that are gonna crash"......riding a bicycle on the road is more dangerous than riding a motorcycle b/c you cannot keep up with the flow of traffic (especially in rural areas)......I wish there was a good answer but there isn't and bike riders will continue to die on our roads.
