My RTV worksite is due any day now. I was wondering if I should have the plastic top installed by the dealer or do it myself later.

I was concerned about the dealer trailoring it on the interstate for 30 miles with the plastic top attached. I'm sure it will stand up to 25mph, but what about 50 or 60mph?

As long as it sits level on the trailer and not at an angle with the leading edge up it should be OK. Just think about all the golf carts with tops that get trailered back and forth to the golf course.

You should be OK. Yesterday, I delivered a RTV with a cab and soft side doors. I was worried about the doors opening (suicide doors) and so I loaded it on the roll back backwards and locked the doors shut. I probably drove at least 30 miles in the wind and all was OK. Hope this helps.

I hauled my RTV with a plastic top on an open trailer, facing forward, at 65 to 70 mph. The trip was about 60 miles -- no problems.

This is the Kubota black plastic top. If yours is something else, it could be different.

I haul mine all the time down the interstate at 70-80 behind the ford. No problems. It's fairly well attached to the rollover bars. I don't think you have any problems. I back mine on the trailer but I don't see where that would make much difference anyway. Let them go ahead and put it on for you, thats that much less you have to monkey with when you get it. GS

Great... thanks for all the advice. I told them to go ahead and install the top if it comes in before the RTV (but don't hold up the shipment if the top isn't in first).

I'm anxious.
