tranny fluid in fuel?

/ tranny fluid in fuel? #11
I was talking to a guy that had 850K on the worst diesel on the planet the GM 6.5 in a Suburban. I asked "what's the secret" , he said he puts a quart of tranny fluid in every few week or months, I'm not sure it's been a while.

I don't think I have ever heard of another GM 6.5 diesel going that long, so take it for what it's worth.

Not the worst but darn close. It's predisesor was the worst, the GM (Detroit Diesel) 6.2L or how about the one before that, the reworked 350 gas engine turned into a diesel, what a nightmare.

many tractor dealer recommend tranny fluid in the fuel mostly for the older tractor injection pumps and its seals.

My neigbor just had his new 4wd 15-18 hp JD injection pump replaced under warranty. The JD dealer recommended adding a fuel lubricity for the problem.

I add about 2 oz of Dexron per a 5 gal fuel can for my '98 50 hp tractor. It just turned over 1400 hrs and runs fine.

I bought a used tractor (early '80's model) from a area dealer several year ago. He recommended using a couple of ounces per 5 gal. I did the first 2-3 years but stopped. The injection pumps started leaking like crazy. I called the dealer for a possible rebuild shop or distributer. He suggested going back to ATF for several weeks. After about 3-4 weeks of ATF the seals stopped leaking.

For the newer gen tractors I would get your dealers input.
