This is a bit more than a crack, but I was sort of "tapping" the tiller to get it to line up. It must have something to do with the alignment, since only one lifter shows damage and the stop is bent toward that side. I always had a problem with one cylinder lagging (the opposite side of the damage). Maybe a cause - any idea on a fix?

Hey Shovels,

I am very pleased to hear that the tractor has that many hours on it and with the way that you talked, it may have over 3000 hours on the tractor. That's good, really good.

I would at least check with JinmaParts.com . There Ph # is 866 533 5536 . They have a parts Dept and they could probably email you the parts schematic. I don't have my scanner set up, or I would send you the parts schematic. They could most likely send you the whole manual for your tractor as well. I think that Chad is the Head Technician there, not sure though, but he could most likely point you in the right direction. You'll probably have to give them some serial #'s for them to look up the parts properly.

I don't know what all is damaged, and I am just guessing, but it might be cheaper to replace the whole reservoir unit as a whole. I think that it may come that way, but not sure. They will know at JinmaParts.com . That's where I have been getting all of my OEM parts so far, and they have helped me a lot. They have been really nice to me.

The mouse probably crawled in there, to escape the cold Chinese Winter weather. Or on the other hand,, it may be some sort of good luck ritual that they practice in China. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Whatever the case,, your little tractor has quiet a lot of hours on it, to qualify for a good luck charm.

I did remove the Reservoir on My Shenniu back in the early 90's. I rented and little hydralic hoist that had rollers on it, It worked really well. The hard part was putting it back down and alligning the holes with the gasket. I think that the rental on the hoist was about 30 dollars or so for a day or 2.

Best of Luck with the repair &
Try not to let it get you down,
Joe

If your reservior and lift mechanism looks anything like this, it's a single piston/cylinder powering both (ganged) lift arms.

Joe in our case we coated the gasket with grease stuck it to the hydraulic reservoir, put some bolts through from the top to keep it aligned and set it back down on the case. It wasn't bad for us at all, just awkward and hefty.

hey guys:

I made up some photodelux as well as jpg files a long time ago and posted them on my personal web page. the high res photodelux ones can be downloaded and views zoomed ect the jpgs are smaller for easie viewing.

here is link to the main page for them

http://www.bright.net/~ispike/ipb/

(EDIT IN FOLLOWING:
to download the photoshop ver simply click the photo and it will take you to a 2nd page then in the address bar simply change the last 3 letters from .JPG to .PDD and hit enter. when it asks to open or to save select save to disk. )

glad you have that many hrs on her! makes a good point to those people who say that they are cheap junk and will fall appart befor you get 500 on them. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

repair I have no help top add for that but was warned a long time ago about letting the lift arms raise up too far which does one of 2 things pop out the lift cylinder seals out the end which blows the seal and or cuts it when they lower and then it won't raise/lift anymore or jams up and well you found out that part.. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
With one side popping out & being damaged I would think you may have some additional parts failures in back ionside the hyd res where the cross shaft attaches the two lift arms internally as well...??? not 100% on that though as I ahve not had mine appart anyhow I only have 1/10th the hrs on mine ! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I will add a couple things here. For one, it isnt that heavy that 2 guys cannot lift it off, i did it myself.
Also here is one trick to use, get a couple of bolts about twice as long as the ones that hold the lift down and cut off the heads, grind a chamfer on the end and screw them into the top of the rear differential to use as guide pins when lowering the lift back down.
And last, dont bother with the gasket, clean the surfaces with a rag soaked with brake cleaner or lacquer thinner and use a thin bead of RTV silicon.

Tractors apart (really not that bad, didn't even need the cherry picker). Everything but the casings seem to have survived. Figured I must of had the 3pt all the way up, then was trying to "tap" with the cylinders and they pushed it beyond the stop. These little tractors are built out of some tough stuff (must be those scrapped submarines they get).
I started to get extravagant on my "fix", warning lights, slow down, etc (work on cranes for Uncle Sam). Decided to just hook a bar to the seat bracket that's just ahead of the stop, if I drive it past that, my fault and I deserve to buy parts again (I know, just watch what I'm doing, but it just doesn't work that way for me). Thought about putting a sheetmetal "drip pan" between the hyd & tran, but figured that was "work" sneaking back into my thinking - just don't do it again. Don't know why the lifter is chewed on that side, maybe it always was and I just didn't notice.
This is one tough little tractor, it's getting up there in age, but it's all steel, no dents in the fenders or hood even - and it hasn't had the easy life. Did have to change the seat so I could reach the pedals, but I also had to do that with my American made motorcycle, so maybe it's just me. Don't like the way some of the things are placed for ease of maintenance, but they're starting to get moved around as needed.
Thanks everyone, until the next fubar...
