trans/hydro oil amount

I just did the 50-hour service on my Massey 1726E. My book says it holds 10.04 gallons of trans/hydro oil, but I've already put about 10.1+ gallons in and don't seem to see it through the sight-glass (unless it's full above the level of the glass and I can't tell). Should I just keep adding? Any clues on this? Thnx.

Start the tractor raise the loader all the way up in the air this will cause a large volume of fluid to fill the loader lift cylinders. Shut the tractor off and let the oil settle in the case. You will likely see that the oil was up over the sight glass and you will see it go down and look empty. Lower the loader a foot at a time monitoring the sight glass every time you lower it. As the loader cylinders empty their fluid back into the case you will see the sight glass fill up.

Thanks fxdb. I guess I over-filled it way too much. I finally got my wife to watch the sight glass while I drained it. It didn't have room for nearly as much as the book said it would!
