Looks good so far except you should be using black pipe copper or brass pipe and fittings. Galvanized pipe has a tendency to flake off into diesel fuel.Here's what the setup looks like so far:

Where the 90 degree elbow is will be another straight piece of pipe going into the diesel.
You don't want that to get into your engine.
I put a union on the line just before it goes into the drum to make it easy to disconnect the drum in order to take it to get it filled if I ever need to do that.


I don't know how you plan on getting down through the top of the drum but here are photos of the fitting I used for that.



The union is attached to one end of it in the above picture of the drum.
