Oil & Fuel Transfer tank water separator recommendations please, just got a new GPI 12v pump

Watch the micron rating of the filters, I would not use any filter above a 10 micron. Fuel systems components are just to expensive these days to save money on a filter.

In general, you need a water blocking/separating filter on a storage or transfer tank mainly to deal with condensation and crud that accumulates in the tank. That is the main point.

The filter on the engine is the real place to think about safeguarding fuel system components, and that's true whether it's a tractor getting fuel from a transfer tank or road vehicle getting it straight from the pump.

Got the 12v GPI 15 gpm pump and GPI meter all plumbed and mounted up today. I ended up going with the Goldenrod 496 filter/separator. I used stainless fittings for the install and used a coupler to mate 2 lengths of fuel hose. I just filled up the 3930 and boy what a difference over the manual hand crank pump. I'm very pleased.

Looking good. Now I am wondering why I went cheap on my pump not having a meter. I never learn - use a lower cost version first, then pay all over again to do it right.

This 12v pump was worth every penny, I picked it for $237.50 on sale, $100 for the meter on eBay and $40.00 for the separator/filter.

Figured I'd update this thread, I upgraded to a 108 gallon transfer tank, otherwise same set up.
