I got my new tractor and now I need a way to keep it topped off.

I bought this aluminum 46gal fuel tank from the big truck salvage yard, a harbor freight 12 volt pump with nozzle, and some 2'-3' pieces of 2"x2"x3/16" angle iron from the scrap yard so we are on our way to gettin it done.

My biggest concern at the moment is cleaning the inside. It is not bad, but I just rather clean it now instead of later.

Any thoughts or suggestions before I get started?

Is it loose or dried on? If it's dried on I would get a gallon or so of Kerosene and let it sit a few days. Loose floating stuff, I would probably just use a clean rag on rod that I could insert through the fill hole on the tank.

You may be able to add a fuel filter on the output of the pump. I use to use 5 gallon plastic cans to refuel. After a little use I noticed sludge increasing it the little bit of fuel that didn't get poured out so your efforts may not make a difference. Now I only buy from the dealer I have fill my HHO tanks and I use a 55 gallon drum with a 12 pump and filter on it.
