Transmission Calibration 2007 John Deere 3120

You probably had a throttle position sensor issue. I had a similar problem last year. I suspect what the dealer did was calibrate the sensor. The throttle position sensor calibration on a 3x20 series is a bit more complex than chickenman describes, but easy enough. I really suggest you buy the technical manual for your model. It cost a few bucks but is well worth the price.

what is the calibration procedure on your tractor?

it adds wear and tear on mine because there is no differential in the drive line between front and rear wheels so any tire wear puts a strain on the drive line also tight turns put a strain on it

I understand not using the MFWD under certain circumstances, but in most instances (for the type of work I do) I believe I strain my tractor less by using MFWD than by not using it. Sorta like walking around on two feet rather than hopping around on one. It is just a lot easier on two feet.

I guess it depends on how you use the tractor. I use the loader and backhoe 90% of the time, brush cut and till the other 10%. The loader works way better in MFWD, so much so that I just never take it out unless I hit the paved road.

interesting comments re MFWD - 2 different uses so 2 different preferences in working. 95% of my hours are in rough/uneven paddocks either slashing or doing bucket work so i leave mine in MFWD & only disengage when on roadways. i find that in uneven terrain the 4 wd function gives a better ride as machine is pulling & pushing so to speak. Cocre i see urs is a 2006 model, what sort of hours have u done, likewise Chickenman, if its not an impolite question to u both? cheers OG

got mine in 04 and use it quite a bit but the hour meter display is shot so i'm not sure

i use mfwd quite a bit but try to avoid sharp turns with it and engage it and disengage while moving slowly but when just going to a work site i disengage it

i have a horse farm so it gets used much

i have been thinking of getting a regular hour meter to put on
