Transmission Filter Housing

Anyone seen a JD 2950 without the spring in the filter housing?

#4 is there, but doesn't appear to be spring loaded. When I put the filter back up, there is no resistance and now I'm wondering if the filter is actually sealing against the top of the transmission housing....

I would think it's not sealing without it, that's something that needs to be addressed sooner than later

Ditto spring needs to be present for any filtering of oil to take place.
