Transmission filter.

I have a 09 Kioti CK 30 STICK....I changed the trans. filter at 50 hrs; it looked good.. I just took the filter off to see if it was dirty 315 hrs. cut it up and couldn't find anything in it.... I weighed the old one and the one I just took off, both weighed the same.. I put the old one ( 50 hr. ) back on.. Make's me wonder if they need to be changed at less than 500 or 1000 hrs..My fluid is so clear you can barely see it. Any opinions? By the way this has been a great tractor, never even one complaint..

When manufacturing the castings all kinds of material fall in the castings. They clean it as best as they can, but........

Did I read your post right? You had a filter laying around in a dirty, dusty garage for 6 years after getting wet with dust attracting fluid and thought it would be a good idea to put it back on your unit?

This is a troll post, right? No one is that cheap or stupid.

The filter is pulling out solids. Unless you are a drug dealer, I doubt you could successfully weigh a dry vs wet vs used filter with a scale you have. How many ounces of metal do you think it's pulling out?

And the color of the flip hid mostly comes from oxidation and heat. I don't think the filter removes either. There are reasons to change the fluid and filters at certain intervals. You can't tell the need by eye. You could possibly tell with a fluid analysis, but even then I usually just change it anyways.

Ive never put a used filter back on a unit. That's just crazy. Almost as silly as filling the filtered side of a new filter with unfiltered fluid before screwing it on.
