Transmission-Hydraulic Fluid question

   / Transmission-Hydraulic Fluid question #11
Does everyone using this product have manual transmissions, like shuttle shifts, or hydrostatics which are more like automatics. I have a dillema in that my Mahindra shuttle shift 2545 calls for 80/90W oil to be used in the transmission/hydraulic system. But I've read that this is too heavy a weight for hydraulics, while something lighter not so good for a manual transmission. Anyone know the viscosity of this Supertech stuff? Any comments welcomed. Getting ready for my initial 50 hour servicing.

Go with what the OEM specs. They aren't going to tell you to put in something the system can't use properly. There is a good chance other lighter oils will work fine, but there isnt a lot of point in 2nd guessing the manufacturer unless you know something they dont, like some odd extreme tempature conditions or something.

Some heavy equipment specs engine oil for the hydraulic system. Odd, but not that different than hydraulic fluid.

Just make sure whatever you use meets the specs (or has the same specs as what you are using) required by your equipment and you should be good.
