Oil & Fuel Transmission Oil type

Has anyone compared the cost of a car transmission versus a tractor tranny?
When I did my 50 hour change the oil looked great till sunlight hit my container, and there was a lot of tiny shiny metal particals, and magnet was full of crap, any new mechanical device will have a wearin process, and maybe car castings etc have better tollerances, just saying I felt better knowing I changed that oil out, and will be curious what it looks like at next change, I used Valvolene have had good results with their products over the years:D.

I'm confused: here is what the manual says:
*NO TRANS FLUID CHANGE AT 50 HOURS! Per KIOTI OWNER"s manual. First change 400 hours!!!!
I looked it up for my DK-40SE/HST and it specifically says there is NO requirement or need to change the trans fluid at 50 hours service!!!
Manual part #DH14-001 March 2010.
Location: inside left cover page. *AND then it says on page 7-4 of the maintained schedule chart that the fluid MUST be changed at 50 hours?!:confused2::confused3::shocked::rolleyes:

Could someone please tell me what Kioti's official stance on this issue actually is?
It sure would help clarify what one is supposed to do based on the manufacturer's requirements.

Thx,
CM

As i have Stated I'm changing at 50hrs But this is what my dealer said!
Change the oil ! Then i asked what type? He said any make. I ask him about people talking about not changing and he agreed that that seemed to be the trend and its My choice but he would change it.

I'm NOT questioning what you're going to do- I'm seeking clarification from KIOTI: their 'official' manufacturer position for all to be able to make a reasonable assessment of what choice makes most sense based on their being the manufacturer and warranty deciders.

You may need to call customer service as Kioti doesn't directly participate on TBN. Kioti dealers may well differ in what they recommend.

One related point: if you choose not to change hydraulic fluid at 50 hours don't simply change motor oil and filters. The 50hr service is an important time to check all nuts and bolts as well as other areas. Subframe, loader mounts, tire pressure, air filter service etc all deserve attention.

Islandtractor,

I have tightened up most bolts and nutz on the tractor, including replacing some of those that already fell off due to not being put on snugly enough at the factory. Case in point: my entire level rod assy fell apart and got bent up like a pretzel due to being loose from the factory. Dealer replaced the rod and I was able to reuse the upper and lower housing sections. They installed it for me when doing the modified 50 hr. svc.
I'm not one to skimp on maintenance issues, but don't want to do unnecessary things like prematurely changing fluids- in fact I currently have a call in to Kioti to clarify once and for all the official stance on trans fluid change intervals, among other issues.
Once I get an answer I will post it here on TBN.

That would be great Coyote machine, would be nice to know Kioti's official stance.

I hear you on that loud and clear! And I did my best to impress on Kioti customer service that there needs to be a unified response as to what Kioti's stance is now and will be for the immediate future; no confusion as to what we as owners of expensive tractors need to know and abide by during warranty and beyond.
