Transmission quit working in a moment

1986 yanmar 186d. Automatic transmission used in moment turned engine off . later started 2 mins later and no gears at all . Did check shifting linkage did not see any issues . Any thoughts would be appreciated and Bucket continues to work in all positions ! Thx don

If you have a range selector make sure the selector is not positioned between two ranges. This can act like it's in neutral.
