ditto what the others said.
I've moved all of my smaller fords.. IE.. 2n thru 3000, including the 4 cyl rowcrops on a wood deck 7k rated car hauler trailer using half and 1/4 ton trucks. just make sur ethe trailer has brakes. if you go a rental trailer route.. it will likely have surge brakes.. just make sure the wheel spacing for the ramps / rails fits the tractor.
ditto on the haul schedule. I've made use of that when it wasn't feasable to drive 3 states to pick up a laoder frame.. got someone who was already coming down .. worked out a good price to give them some spending money and money toward their fuel.
mapquesting bed to wyoming central is looking like a 16.5hr 1-way drive. that's a pretty good trip.. but way doable. I made a trip from central florida to lampassas texas a couple years back.. mapquest showed 17.5 hr trip.. did it in 40 hour as a red-eye round trip, including a 3-4 hour rest stop at a holiday in express in lampassas while waiting for sun to come up so i could meet the people I was buying the tractor from. Had a buddy on that drive.. we took turns driving.. first leg 1 drive did about 7 hrs, last leg 1 drive did 7 hrs, inbetween we swapped drives at ever ful-up.. which was about 3.5-4 hrs on average. packed a few cold drinks and some sandwiches in coolers. had breakfast at the motel, and hit a real nasty wendy's coming and going right in themiddle of lousiana

was a fun trip. have done plenty more that were more like 16-22 hour trips.. etc. try to do one good road trip a year to fetch a tractor.
factor your fuel and rental, food and expenses vs freight. i can tell you I burned at least 700$-800 of diesel on my trip.. plus a 100$ motel stay and around 50$ of incedental food... had it not been so fun.. I'd have found shipping on that one..
