I know this is an old tread, but since then I have invented and marketing a simple bracket for towing trash bins over long driveways.Very resonable priced and patent pending.Many satisfied customers.Just let you know!

And here is my solution. Powered by the sleeve hitch.

The top hook on my iMatch works well.

I simply loop chain from hand hold to hand hold and hang that over my trailer hitch.
Since the lid might allow trash to drop out at this towing angle I use bungee to keep closed. The bungee also 'coon proofs' my bin as well.
