I believe most, if not all, states require you to be lic to sell plants... maybe mandated by the Fed's.

I actually got paid per acre to get rid of non-native plants and grape vine. Plus the tax incentive.

Up here, they are paying a little to get rid of the Scot's Pine, which is going crazy... and we consider buckeyes invasive, too.... [[[ :) ]]]

Murph, how much land do you have in your tree farm, I hate to admit it, but I know absolutely nothing about tree farms. We get our seedlings from one, but I assumed to be a tree farm, you had to grow for sale or something.

Larry, here you need at least 10 acres to qualify for it plus you need a forestry plan which is easy to do.

What is this thread about??

Anyone else a Certified Tree Farm? I just got my credentials and expecting a sign delivered from my forester. Wondering who else out there loves our tree's.
Did you mean land that went through the AMERICAN TREE FARM SYSTEM CERTIFICATION https://www.treefarmsystem.org/certification-american-tree-farm-system process and gets the plan and the sign like I did or something else?

I'll tell you what it gets you in Indiana.... $1.00 per acre property taxes, that's what.

Like MossRoads CLASSIFIED FOREST, is not necessarily an ATF Certified Family forest.

And the Indiana deal
In return, the State of Indiana agrees to see that the assessed
value of the land is reduced to $1 per acre, and taxed on that preferential assessment.
seems to DRASTICALLY reduce taxes.

I started out on a forestry project to lower my taxes. I then did a forestry plan and joined a EUIP contract which pays you for brush management and grape vine removal. The next step is either a family forest or certified forest your choice but the only difference is the sign you get.

Does it need to serve commercial purposes such as lumber etc.? I couldn't find much information online for Missouri.
