Tree Planting Machine - 8N

I plan to plant 6500 trees this April using a smaller pull-behind tree planting machine behind my 8N. Has anyone had experience with this with an 8N or similar sized tractor? Do you think an 8N will be fine pulling a small tree planting machine?

In the early 60's one spring, I rode either the 8N or the planter for about 15,000 trees. Yes, they work.
Tree planters come in different sizes, so it should be one matched to the 8N. But if in good shape engine wise, they are a 2-plow tractor and should be able to open up the ground with a tree planter. So -- depends.

Just out of curiosity- do you remember how long it took to plant 15,000 trees? I've heard a 3 man crew can do around 4000 per day...but not sure if that is high or low?

We had about 2000 trees planted with one person driving and one person planting. It took them half a day.

Sorry, I don't remember, but it was several days if not a week or two. Seemed to last forever 'til we were done. Planted through cold rain, I remember, and stopped when the tractor lost traction. Most was in sod, with laying the sod back. Now there is speculation that it isn't the way to do it, and chemicals work better than exposing the soil by laying the sod back.
