Tractor
Own Z121S, BX25 purchased w 35 hrs
So I trenched in a silt fence for my big project at my house and found it very annoying that every time I had to move tractor forward I had to reverse seat or it would stall, am I doing something wrong or can that be disabled?
Thanks in advance

Don't for sure but there's some sort of interlock at the seat, maybe a bypass wire to defeat that interlock will help.

Another thought, why not use the BH to drag the tractor along, pickup the FEL and the outriggers and extend the BH pull the tractor, you should be able to do that from the Reversed position and direct the tractor with the steering wheel.
Just thinking out loud.

I think the OP wants to move the BX forward, not backward... but maybe still could be accomplished by leaving the speed select in neutral and using the hoe to PUSH the tractor forward.
To the OP, no you're not doing anything wrong... same thing happens to me. I recall a thread on here s few years ago about someone who rigged up a hand control linked to the forward/reverse treadle, with a momentary push button on it to defeat the seat switch. With this he could move the tractor from his seated position at the backhoe controls. He mounted this hand control in the vacant slot above the 3pt lift lever to the right of the seat. No great detail was given on how this linkage was accomplished. Perhaps a search will find this thread.

Its normal. Kubota doesnt want you moving the tractor forward or backward from the backhoe position. You can try pushing forward using the hoe with the parking brake off and the stabs lifted.

There is a safety switch you can bypass so you can reach down and lift the direction pedal from the rear seat.

Unless they've done something new and inventive to the newer BX-25's, just leave your gear selector in neutral, raise your outriggers, raise your front bucket, and push/pull to where you want to be.

Mine is a 2012 and works just fine, exactly like any Case, Cat, or JCB I've ever used. Good luck and let us know.

I'm able to trench with my BX-25 in gear. However, there is a trick. First, always try and work with gravity--head downhill. When you push the hst pedal, you have to finesse it, giving little pushes. If you give too much pressure, too quickly, it will stall. Maybe they fine tuned your tractor so that you can't do this. But I can do it on mine.

Had much the same problem on my B and solved it by using a wire tie to keep the switch from opening and stalling the tractor. This also helped as I now can reverse my seat and move my tractor or sometimes I just climb over the seat and stand to move the tractor after I have lifted the stabs and FEL. By "fixing" the seat switch I am not bothered by the motor trying to shutdown if I hit a bump while driving. I appreciate Kubota's concern for my safety but in the long run I will decide what risks are acceptable to me. Also by using a wire tie I can easily put the machine back in original condition if I ever were to trade up (I wish) for a cab model with a heater!

I turn in my seat (instead of turning the seat) most of the time when I use the BH for small projects. I've also used the release brake, lift FEL and legs and push with bucket method for longer jobs.

I dont set my BX parking brakes on when trenching and leave it in neutral. On level ground I just turn and raise fel a little and push with BH a couple feet and lower FEL again and back to work. On level ground I had to reposition the BX a couple times and I didnt want to bother with turning the seat then lock in so I just stand on the lower platform and press the 2 safety interlocks and steer with the other hand and move BX for front end on different angle. Otherwise I dont need to raise the fel at all and can glide forward when on a slight downhill after raising outriggers slightly off ground.
Only once- just once , there was a only way to trench was up a steep hill so I just locked horns with a larger tractor with his/my FEL since his bucket was wider then mine, I put my bucket inside his and chained it together. I would motion to him to pull me /stop when needed.
