The rig has been fine tuned since this video was made. It now resides on the side lawn on a piece of 3" rigid conduit topped with a gimble made from a Silverado front wheel bearing. Full distance has never been measured because of space issues. It is 1850' to the Kennebec river and I'm putting them somewhere out there. The shot across the field at the door, ending with the plume of snow, was a bad round as it shouldn't have been tumbling, at 200yds and played in slow motion. A "good" round has to be made of aluminum (such as those that poly for windshield installs comes in) and be completely free of defects to fly properly at the 700fps muzzle velocity. Cardboards disintegrate on launch and plastics almost always tumble. 2" trailer balls from the local salvage yard also work well, they will penetrate a 1985 Subaru or old house trailer fully.
Propellant is 120psi from the compressor. Ear protection is required and my neighbors have one hades of a sense of humor!
Anyway, attempting to stay on topic, I think the trespasser realized he was in a bad spot.
