Err... what? You shoot concrete-filled caulking tubes for fun?

When I get bored.....

The rig has been fine tuned since this video was made. It now resides on the side lawn on a piece of 3" rigid conduit topped with a gimble made from a Silverado front wheel bearing. Full distance has never been measured because of space issues. It is 1850' to the Kennebec river and I'm putting them somewhere out there. The shot across the field at the door, ending with the plume of snow, was a bad round as it shouldn't have been tumbling, at 200yds and played in slow motion. A "good" round has to be made of aluminum (such as those that poly for windshield installs comes in) and be completely free of defects to fly properly at the 700fps muzzle velocity. Cardboards disintegrate on launch and plastics almost always tumble. 2" trailer balls from the local salvage yard also work well, they will penetrate a 1985 Subaru or old house trailer fully.

Propellant is 120psi from the compressor. Ear protection is required and my neighbors have one hades of a sense of humor!

Anyway, attempting to stay on topic, I think the trespasser realized he was in a bad spot. :D

Could be worse, I had a local sheriff steal two trailer loads of expensive landscaping plants when I was building my place, have pictures from game camera...problem is he is beloved in this town and highly decorated...had to eat it and move on. Hoping Karma gets his arse someday.

Still a thief in my book, decorated or not. I would have taken that evidence to the state AG's office. They love crap like this to prosecute.

Depends on where you are. If you are in a area with all one party, sometimes things just happen.

300UGUY,

He's still a thief and the game camera proves it. No one is above the law and if the sheriff does that what else has he been doing. That low life needs to be relieved and prosecuted. Once a thief always a thief.

I ran the issue by a detective friend and my attorney, they both said it was sad but the sheriff is part of a narcotics squad and they both told me that I could be set up or worse, every time I see the "shady sheriff" I am reminded that they really are above the law.

Everyone has a boss..if this sherrif is doing THIS kind of stuff then he's doing worse. You get yourself into his boss (Attorney General or FBI) and have them watch your butt for the setup that follows and then they get him twice. This aint their first rodeo either. If you don't stand up to a bully he's gonna do you worse and that's been proven time and again. If you can't find the courage to do it for yourself then do it for the next guy. YOU ACTUALLY HAVE PROOF. COME ON!

The worst thing is if they are the "good ole boy", family been living there forever and the DA doesn't want to do anything.

Worse than that would be walk into the DA's office and there sits the neighbor that ripped you off!

They are not above the law but their position makes it harder to get 'em. A Sheriff in a county near us just got convicted of stealing drug money. A county south of us had 20 some deputies arrested and sent to prison for crimes ranging from theft to kidnapping. Some of the idiots went to VA and kidnapped some drug dealers. The ex deputies are now in the Federal pen. One of the deputies was given a national award for bravery before the corruption got to him and he went over the line.

They can be gotten but almost certainly you have to go to state law enforcement to do the investigation and prosecution. Maybe the Feds.

Getting the state law involved does not mean you have to be part of the investigation. Just a tip that something is going on can get the ball rolling.

Later,
Dan

One of the things my detective friend said is there are "bigger" things happening around him...did not put it all together but he does have a lot of expensive toys for a sheriff salary...think the Feds may already be watching.

Fix, you could be right, the Toys could be his un-doing, I cannot blame you for not chasing your tail. The Da probably has the bigger charges lined up? You have to pick your fights, best of luck.
