Tried cutting the back side of the Dam

You know you are at your limit when with a three point mower you have to lift the mower a bit to get enough weight on the uphill tire to move forward. Have fun mowing. If the job makes you really uncomfortable you could always mow up and down the hill.

I've mowed the detention ponds at my church a few times, the levies on it are so steep that the only way I can do it is up and down for a lot of it. There are a couple of spots that I can go diagonal but, most of it is back down the hill, drive back up. Takes forever to mow it that way but, I stay upright.

They've finally gotten the lawn company they use to keep them mowed with the ZTR's, those can run most of it horizontally, they're a lot closer to the ground and have a smaller footprint.

I might use the Exmark anyway. But we only have a few cuts left.

I've had to mow a couple roadside ditches sideways... leave it in 2wd & carry on leaning over puckered up going slow. You know you've hit the limit when you stop moving. Look over & see the the high side wheel spinning freely with no traction. Back up slowly, abandon ditch, change shorts.

I find leaving it in 2wd mowing & doing other non ground engaging is a good thing. You have less ability to do something stupid. At the least it gives you a checkpoint most of the time to validate it's not stupid, or you want to do the stupid thing anyways. Carrying anything on the loader is the exception... always want 4wd for that as you'll end up with no rear traction & no front brakes where you do have traction.

Hope not to get to the change the shorts time.

It is just much steeper then the picture shows but loaded tires spread out as far as they go helps.
It looks about 15 degrees. If so thats good. If much more it is unwise to mow cross slope with a large tractor because the downhill rear will cause ruts to develop over time and repeated mowings. ... Around 25 degrees it becomes a bona fide safety issue.

Well, I finally tried and cut the back side of the dam.

To reduce the risk of rollover, it would be prudent to remove the FEL and also do not mow across the dam. Instead mow with the front of the tractor pointed downhill, going uphill in reverse.

I would say it is about 20 degrees or so. Going downhill is not really an option as it is too narrow up top to turn and gett He mower over the edge of the dam. Will try it again and see how it's goes in a couple weeks.

You could measure it.

The more tongue weight the better, that big of bat wing might put close to 1000# low on the drawbar. That has to be the way the highway mowers stay upright, plus fluid and wide tire spacings.
