How did the "monkey wrench" get it's name?

Debatable. I looked it up once. Variation of possible inventor's name, or application of the common term "monkey motion" for things with moving parts, compared to a non-adjustable wrench.

Last I recall it was widely accepted that it was named after the inventor. Something like Monquay or whatever.

The family stayed in Dulce NM for a few months in about 1962. At that time there was a narrow gauge RR that came through & served the town. Don't remember how often it came through. But it was a big deal when it did.

The old RR has been restored & is now a big deal tourist thing and my understanding is that it is real busy.

There is a river that separates the town from the Indian reservation on opposite sides. Had a little wooden bridge in those days.

The town of Dulce it's self has become a very popular place for a certain type of tourist.

What is the big deal that draws those folks there???
