Tropical Depression 28, soon to be Zeta, headed for the Gulf Coast

We lived in Baton Rouge parish for 6 years without any hurricanes. Now, here's about the 4th one to hit them this year.

The center of Zeta is in the Terrebone Bay area of Louisiana and
is making landfall near Cocodrie. Somewhat surprisingly, Zeta has
rapidly intensified this afternoon.

We are under a TS warning here in the mtns of southeast tenn. 40 to 60 mph winds and up to 4 inches of rain tomorrow morning ( 29th ). Since we live in a National forest the high winds will cause chaos with trees down and power lines down if we get those high winds. All of our gas and diesel tanks are full along with generators ready ! Battled a few to many hurricanes when we lived in TX on the gulf coast. Everyone stay safe !!!

The hurricane has just left our area. This was the worst October hurricane ever in our area but at least we have no major damage. A couple of large pecan trees down, lots of branches to clean up but at least we will have a lot of firewood this winter. Just another long week of hard work ahead and just when I thought 2020 couldn't get any worse. I'm running on my generator right now as the electric has been out over an hour now.

I was wondering about the TS warnings as relating to TN. Local TV showed them ending at the NC/TN border. I thought that was odd.

Our damage is worse than I thought. Our internet and cable tv are still off but the worst is that a tree branch fell on my gas meter and broke the line going to my house. Replacing the line, getting it tested and inspected and having the gas company come install a new meter will be over $3200.00.

OK, I don’t know what I am doing wrong now but........we were in the cone of uncertainty 8 times so far this year and now have some hurricane damage left to clean up so when we heard another one was coming our way, we headed to South Florida for a little r and r.

Then we heard it was headed that way instead so we headed to Orlando. Got there then heard it was headed there so we headed home again. Why are they following me?

It turned out to be very minor in Gainesville, not even much rain or wind, lights flickered once

It's been nothing but a rain event here in SE GA,
Been raining off and on most of the week.
Should be moving on by sometime this evening.
