I had trouble re-installing the BH on my BX22 today. it's a task I've done a gazillion times & I've got the procedure down pretty well. The problem - - I could not get the quick connects to connect. There was no way I could push the male fittings into the female fittings. I finally called the dealer & spoke to the owner - - he asked if I could re-connect the line that loops back into the tractor. Yes, that works - - then the problem is with the BH. There is pressure that needs to be released. He had me push on the spring-loaded plunger in both the male & female BH fittings, but he advised me to be careful that the fluid doesn't hit me in the face. I did as he suggested & got the line to drip hydraulic fluid [it did not spurt]. And yes that did the trick.

I had never had that happen before. Now I know.

When you take the back off, you really need to make sure you get all the pressure released by moving all the valves before disconnecting the lines. None of the cylinders should be supporting any weight. If one of the cylinders can move after you have the lines disconnected, you will bet pressure build up causing the problem you had.

Had similar issue with line on grapple. Had to relieve the pressure first and the no problems.

I usually wiggle all the levers on whatever implement prior to plugging up the couplings. Had that happen on the FEL one time.

I have the same trouble at times with the FEL.If it's much warmer when I put in on than when I took it off,the hydraulic pressure has increased with the temperature, making connection difficult,if not impossible.Releasing the pressure is the solution. As someone here mentioned one time,a 1/4" drive extension and a shop towel do the trick-push the extension into the female coupler to relieve the pressure with the rag to control the released fluid.

When I take mine off I coupe the lines together it keeps the pressure balanced at least before uncoupling I run move one of the levers in a circle then uncouple
The one time couldent get the male back hoe in the female on tractor to gether I put a rag on the tip of the coupler and tapped it with a hammer and that relieved pressure and it went together.

yep..Move all hydro controls with the engine off just before you pull the disconnects. Residual pressure in the implement is the problem.

If you're careful, you can use a wooden dowel on the BH connector to relieve a little pressure..Be careful that you dont get hit with fluid spray.

had that happen to me already, problem was the stablizers were supporting the weight of the backhoe, now I throw a cement block under the backhoe when I take it off and have not had a problem since

I had this happen to me with the FEL on my BX2660. Guess the fluid had heated up in the sun and I couldn't get the pressure released. Tried all the above mentioned suggestions after I finally decided that's why I couldn't get the connection to snap/click back together. I finally got my wrench out and loosened one of the fittings, let a bit of fluid out and tightened back. Easy connect after that.

Guys- lets becareful here. There been too many horror stories on this TBN about hydraulic fluid injecting in skin. you can't really feel it go in. you really should be wrapping the ends with a rag around the punch tool at the fitting before you pick up the hammer.

Lets think saftey.;)
