DK35se
Hello, thought I started a thread a few days ago but could find it. My 2008 Kioti dk35se (did) cranks but won’t start, was running fine. I’ve read through many of your other threads and replaced the engine stop relay. Nothing. I swapped the new relay with the starter relay and it cranked. I can hear and feel the starter solenoid click. No action on the engine stop solenoid. Now it won’t even crank. The battery tests fine. The ignition switch has been wonky for a while, will this cause the engine stop relay to not work?

Welcome to TBN. I would start looking at all the grounds and connectors. Loosen them, inspect the cables and retighten.

FYI: "troubleshooting" is one one word. I'm a pretty fair shot (with a pistol or rifle), but I'd have trouble shooting a tractor for not starting...

I checked the grounds that I know about, the tractor cranks. I just replaced the engine shut off solenoid. There’s no smoke coming from the exhaust but the wire harness to the engine shut off solenoid has power. The fuse for the engine shut off solenoid was blown, replaced it.
Are there other grounds I should check?
What do the relays under the dash control?

What do the relays under the dash control? The engine won’t crank with the pto switches turned on, so I figure that’s working, I guess

I tested the old engine stop solenoid with a 12v car battery and it cycles in and out. Where is the electric drain? Can I jump it? Could this be ignition switch related?

Also checked the fuel lines, they are clear

By the by my 2017 new Holland work master 60 with 3000 hrs has also quit, showing STOP symbol and oil symbol. I rely on tractors, chainsaws and my truck to make a living, losing my marble, the local dealer is a bunch of pirates. Cleared the codes and got the new holland to run but it quits and I don’t want to mess with it anymore. A lemon from the start

I must say I really appreciate the stuff I’ve learned on this forum as well as diesel forum over the years

The fuel solenoid relay is under the hood by the fuel tank on my 2010 DK45. Id assume yours is the same.

You should hear the relay click when you turn key on (but dont start)

It sounds like maybe any of that safety stuff, like the seat switch. And also I believe you indicated the ignition switch was tricky and that be easy to check.

I don’t hear or feel the solenoid click, I swapped the starter relay and engine shut off relay as well as bought another one, the tractor will still crank so I don’t think it’s the relay. Using a digital multimeter I get 9.66 volts from the wire harness leading to the engine shut off solenoid. The tractor battery reads 12.14. I tested the original engine shut off solenoid by attaching wire leads to a car battery (bad thing to do?) and it retracts no problem. I thought I saw the voltage requirements for the engine shut off solenoid somewhere in my searches.

Have you double checked all the fuses? I dont recall if you could manually move the stop solenoid in the kioti to try to force it to open.

Heres what i have in manual

All Fuel solenoids in the KIOTI DKSE Series have 2 coils. A Pull coil and a Hold coil. Depending on the year of the tractor, the fuel solenoid plug will have either 2 or 3 pins. On the 2 pin plugs, one pin is Pull, one is Hold, and ground is supplied by body ground. On later model units the plug will have 3 pins. Same as above except the center pin is ground. If you don't hear the clap of the solenoid when the key is turned to "on", the solenoid is not opening. The Pull side of the coil should have power for about 1 second. The Hold side will have power continuously with the key on.

The pull side is controlled by the timer circuit. Again, depending on the year of the tractor, this is done through the Timer Relay (early models), or through the Display Unit (later models). The Timer or Display Unit send the Pull Coil timed signal to the fuel relay, which switches the pull coil power. So...you first need to determine which system is in your tractor depending on the serial number, then trouble shoot the system as described above.

Hope this helps

I replaced the ignition switch today, no difference. I got a new multi meter and tested the wiring harness again. With the multi meter leads stuck in the red/hot and middle/black ports of the harness it reads 9.66v when I turn the key, and then climbs to 11.9 when the glow plug turns off. With the multimeter leads in the red/hot and the black multimeter lead in the neutral (?) blue wire slot it only reads .7 volts. Can I reroute/jump the blue wire from the engine shut-off solenoid to the relay?

Mine is a 2008, the wire harness has 3 wires, so maybe display unit? Is that the larger module above the relays under the hood above the fuel tank?

Ya, thats the display unit. I had to replace mine years ago due to glow plug issues….as i can recall. At least it isnt very expensive
