Oh,,reread your post and you also wanted to know how much,,,,well,,,there is a little check plug on mine for trans.,,,its located above the left wheel,,looking at it from back,,,push tine depth control thing down,so's its not resting on tines, and remove plug,,if oil comes out,,you are fine,,,if not,,you add oil by removing handle bars,,down where they attach to tractor,,book says, and add oil there,,to tell you the truth,,I've never added any in the 11 years I've owned it,,but you take handle bars loose,,down where you can loosen them to swivel,[something else I've never done],evedently hole is where that bolt is....Tine attachment,,same oil,,,fill plug is on top of tine attachment with a dipstick,,supposed to check it with tines all the way off ground and two by four under that depth control bar,[under tines],,,level wise I'm speaking,,check that belt out,,just had to put new one on mine last year,,I ordered it when garden way[troy built] was still troy built,,,before they got took over by mtd [or something like that],,,,that 8 hp cost I think,,2,000 dollars,,I said I think,,,those ones they sell at lowes are not the same,I think ,compared to old ones,,,they still sell the horse models,,but don't sell them at lowes,[according to their mailings],,,but maybe you could still get a belt and new tines off them????Course A good auto place could probably order you a belt if you brought old one in,,,even the old troy built didn't make the belts,,,,,As far as motor,,,mines a kohler,,and any place that sells kohler motor stuff should be able to order you stuff for it,,like the gas tank I needed,,,,,thingy
