I'm already connected. I have a close friend that runs the local tire recycler. He can usually get me any size I want for $10 each. Most have more than half the tread life left, and some are even better than that. I run used tires on all of my vehicles.

I also have connections with a guy who is on the fire department with me. He works at the local farm store, and if I catch him during a slow time of day he'll mount my tires for free. He's not really that good at balancing tires, but on trailers it shouldn't matter that much.

I called my tire recycler friend last night to give him my tire size. He said he may have some trailer tires in the yard that are that size. If he doesn't, the next best options are a size up or a size down.

Heck, with prices like that,go could go in the used tire business,as long as your supply holds out!

For the money, the truck tires sound like the ticket. Load range E tires are the way to go if light truck tires are being run close to their capacity. I also believe that the truck tires are most likely a better rubber compound.

Load range E tires are overkill for that trailer. Since you can get the tires cheap, I would just get a set of 4 tires of the same size that have a load capacity of 1750 lbs minimum each and you will be fine.

I have a RV trailer and belong to the forum rv.net. In those discussion groups for RV trailers, it's generally considered a good upgrade to trade up the trailer tires to LT tires.

There are lots of entries in those forums about it and there almost all positive.
