if you aren't hauling ALL the time, a 14k trailer will do fine. (maybe right close to the limit, but fine)
Money no object, i'd like like a F550 class truck and not even think about it.
but, since that darn money thing gets in the way, I'd get a one ton. I think the dually wheels would help a lot over a SRA truck. (help spread the load out)
Shoot, the other day in my poor miserable sad 3/4 ton chevy (which everyone knows aren't as tough as the other maker's trucks), I had the tractor equipped at about 11,000lbs (don't ask), towing the trailer (another 4500/5000lbs) that had a broken spring on the brakes and one of the trailer brakes was on the entire time. (about 30 miles)
I didn't notice.
any of the newer trucks from the Big 3 are TOUGH.
