I like to watch HighWay Thru Helll. Interesting the delema in running new vs used equipment. Old stuff breaks, or won't get the job done, and ruins your reputation, New stuff doesn't allow you to make any money.
I have been watching the new series Heavy Rescue 401. I ran the 401 from Alexandria Bay to Brockville on my way to Carleton Place back in the late seventies then Toronto via the Peace Bridge in the 2006-2008 time frame. Seems like the driver ability has gone down hill a bit.

But yes, those 75 ton rotators with the Jake legs are pretty impressive and expensive I bet.

The series based around Toronto was quite lame in my opinion. As were some of the operators.

I thought the heavy rescue 401 was better than highway through ****. Towies was good too.

We have watched all three. Not really a big fan of the foul language not being bleeped out on Heavy Rescue 401 or Towies like it was in Highway Through Hell, but they were all interesting to watch.
Currently watching Forged in Fire as they become available, those have been interesting.

I am always surprised how they bring in Tow Trucks for Heavy equipment rescue. I would bring in more construction equipment before calling a towie.

Says I am "FORBIDDEN"

That Touring (sp?) guy has big iron in addition to his trucks. Seems like quite the man.

Can you imagine what that costs? How many tows you have to do to make it pay for itself. And, I bet, that's not even FWD. You would think, that added cost would hardly matter but make a difference to get places.

Well, at $10K per tow ... Do they charge that much? I wouldn't doubt it if insurance companies are paying.

That number is just a wild guess off the top of my left foot.
