I live here in North Georgia, about 50 miles south of Chattanooga, Tn and about 90 miles north of Atlanta. We got about 5" of snow. I thought I would give it a try....and low and behold my old trusty YM 2000 started! I do not have glow plugs on it, kept trying to start it, took me about 2 minutes. So I hooked up my 4' box scrape and started plowing snow! I am so proud of it. I got my tractor in 2001. Take care and stay safe all.

We're getting hammered with snow again right now !! Your 2000 should not have glow plugs but have a thermo start system. Last week when we got snow ,I started my 3110 without the Thermo start. It did take a few min. to get started

Getting some sleet right now, starting this morning when I let the hounds out about every 2 hours, my feet steps are covered over again each time,
I started my tractor up over the weekend with no problem, I'll usually pull the decompression and let it spin over about 30 secs, and when I let it go it'll fire up with a puff of smoke, Yup!...Trusty-ol-Yanmar's:thumbsup:

Howdy neighbor, actually I'm a few miles south of there at the moment but have a farm and
YM2000B just a few miles from you in Dade County. I also bought mine in 2001, (from J&J tractors in Trenton).

In Walton Co. I started my 2000 a few Wks. back. My TS. worked like a Champ!! and started it right up. It's stored under a carport. Owned it since 08. Having to get the Starter rebuilt has been my only problem that I couldn't handle myself. I did have to go into it and Rev. the Motor Brushes not long after I bought it. The repair shop mentioned that they could tell that someone was in it. With a chuckle replied they was "Nothing" left of them. :D. 75.00 at a Local shop. Not Bad for a "As Is" never Referbished Unit from Spalding .

I like to hear stories of people who have Yanmar's, and the places where they are from. I hope that this is the last of snow. I am now officially ready for some warmer weather. My Harley Davidson Roadking is not getting attention at all. I will use my tiller again for my garden, my neighbor stopped and ask me if I would till his garden up last spring. I did. That RS 1400 is an excellent machine. Just FYI, there was a guy selling Yanmars, trailers, box scrape, rotoray cutter, out of his front yard. Back in 2001, I went to look at a 1500, the tractor was to small for me, so we got in the truck rode over to Fredricks in Hartselle, AL. He explain to me that the YM 2000, would be the size for my needs. He test drove it, said clutch needed adjusting, and it needs a new starter. The tiller was made for the tractor. It has been a good running tractor. I cannot complain.......but I am got an itch for 4 wheel drive with FEL. I am getting off my soapbox.....Thanks for reading or listening, everyone be safe. Take care all.
