Trying to decide between a 2320 & 2520

Can anybody confirm that when using a 200cx loader on a 2320 , is the lift limit (weight) the same as it would be on the 2520 using the same loader?

The reason why I ask is it was identical on the 4110 & 4115 using the 410 loader

The spec show increased flow on the 2520 but I cant confirm if this translates to higher lifting ability - I dont see it on the 3pt capacity being any more than the 4115

Not sure if anyone has done the classical experiment we have all seen on the 2210 that JDFANATIC has shown from his sources, but I will try and get around to it on my 2320. I know the data will be of interest to all viewing, especially if someone does the 2305-200CX, 2320-200CX and 2520-200CX

I think I solved my earlier question on loader speed of the 2305 vs 2320. I remembered the 2320 does in fact have a little better implement flow (3.4 gpm vs 2.9 gpm).

So I believe john_deere2320 did in fact estimated very well at 20% versus the theoretical expectation of ~17% although I believe it was due to better flow, not pressure, although the pressure gives him additional lift capacities as well.

Today my local JD dealer brought over a 2320 for a demo. I attached my 261 RM mower and gave it a whirl. The tractor impressed me with the hydro and power steering. Made my mower dance! On the slopes of the ditches the R4's and the fact that this tractor is narower than my JD 650 on turfs made for a real test. A little too tippy for me.

Hooked up to the 550 tiller and put it to work. Lots of power. 3000RPM to get the 540 Rear PTO speed is a bit much. Highest reving diesel I have used.

Unfortunately the loader was not installed so I missed out on giving this a workout.

I really liked the tractor but am going to have him bring out a 2530 with turf tires and see if the extra weight and tire combo can handle my ditch slopes.

Hopefully the loader will be installed. Will let you know how this goes.

Also, the 2520 develops 27% more engine torque than the 2320, at lower speed:
51.3 ft-lbs (2520)
40.3 ft-lbs (2320)

I am located north of Edmonton, Alberta...about 6 miles beyond the city limits on an acreage. I have used my 650 for 21 years and bought it new in 1985. It is in really nice shape and has 1430 hrs. Check out the link to the website where I have with some photos of it.

Yes, lots of photos. The JD dealer wanted a few so I set up the page quickly. This tractor is a real workhorse, built well with a solid engine and transmission. I will have a hard time parting with it and will only let it go to a good home. I only hope that I can get a worthy replacement. This tractor has never let me down. Not a problem in 21 years!
