Hello, all. Have enjoyed reading all the informative posts over the past couple of weeks. I am new to tractors and have a few basic questions on my needs and pricing.

I am considering buying either a CK25 or CK30 and have received some quotes on both. Here are my intended uses:
-Weekly mowing of approx. 3 acres around my home
(my wife likes to do a lot of mowing so she will need to
be comfortable with what we buy)
-Preparation (tilling, mowing, maintaining) approx. 1-2
acres of food plots on 60 acres of hunting property that
is 15 miles from home
-Occasional shredding of 10-20 acres of CRP at the
hunting property
-Snow removal and maintenance of a .1 driveway
-General landscaping, stump removal around the house
-Garden tilling

My property is not extremely hilly, just a couple of gentle hills. I do have several trees to mow around also.

I have received quotes for a CK25 + FEL + 60" rear mount mower of $15,850 and for a CK30 with the same attachments of $16,985. These are before tax and any haggling over price.

I would appreciate any advice, comments, suggestions on my choice of tractor size as well as what you guys think about the pricing I'm getting.

While the CK25 would probably be limited to the 60" RFM, the CK30 should handle a 72" pretty well. This would allow you to get closer to objects and get the job done quicker.

Welcome to TBN first of all.
As you haven't filled out your profile, we can't tell about your pricing as it tends to be regional. Go to "my home" at the top of this page, click that and go to personal settings and put in as much information as you feel comfortable with. This helps others who may live nearer to you answer questions better.
The prices seem within reason, with room for improvement.
I think you should go with the CK30 because it will handle the next size up in implements (PTO) than the CK25 and you have a lot of mowing to do. Kioti sells a very nice rear finish mower, Italian made and it does a very good job.

All could be done with a 25 until the hunt club project came up.

For around a few acres the 25, going to the woods to shred better do a 30.

Yeah, kinda like, "Walk softly and let a BIG Kioti carry you like a big stick!" or something like that.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Yeah, I agree that I believe I would be happier with a CK30, especially when it comes time to attach a shredder and mow at the hunting property. I would love to hear some more opinions on the pricing. What's normal to expect for a discount? 10%, 15% off of the quote??? Is Kioti offering 0% for 36 mos. on the CK30?

By the way, I have updated my profile and as you can see I'm located in Central Illinois.

Thanks.

Are these Hydrostat (or gear) models?

Financing
CK25 HST - 36 months @ 0%
CK30 HST - 24 months @ 0%

(per the financing page at www.kioti.com)

Such a sticky wicket to get into, but often one can expect to get UP to 20% off the MSRP, not necessarily the "quote." Get the dealer to show you the MSRP and decide from there if he's giving you a decent enough discount. Now, that said, I don't know their overhead, cost of doing business, if you will, so I can't really say for sure what they can do and get away with it and still be in business down the line. I think there's about $300 play in the CK30 pricing and possibly $400 in the CK25, but I'm not the dealer, and I don't have to feed his family!

WW

I paid $12,600 for a CK30HST and $2750 for the FEL. $450 for a international box blade and they threw in a landscape rake. It's a great little tractor and the only thing else I can say is I wish I would have bought it last year.

I always thought it was 'walk stickly and carry a big gun'. Mmmm.
