Trying to install rear remotes on L4400

Wow Dex, that is a handy parts list for the 4400. I am sorting out how to do this for my 'new-to-me' L3400 HST with FEL. I asked the dealer last week but they haven't gotten me any information on it yet.

I got the PDF of the parts list from TRACTORSMART Click on the MANUALS tab, then choose your tractor and fill out the form. They will send you a link to a PDF site and you can download the PDF make sure and fill out the list of equipment such as loader and Back Hoe to get the parts manual for those as well.

They sure do. All kinds of diagrams for my tractor. All I filled in was my name and email address and I had the PDF file maybe 10 minutes later.

So, I was thinking about this some more. I know there have been many topics about adding remote ports, but I don't really need the remote valve. I have an old 3pt BH from a previous tractor. Yes, I know I should work on getting a sub-frame, maybe over the winter...

Anyway, the valves are all part of the backhoe, I simply need to get the hydraulics to them. The BH has long hoses that can reach to the front of the tractor if needed. Can't I tee off both the return line from the loader, and the 'power beyond' return from the loader?

If I remember correctly, the loader gets first dibs at the hydraulic pressure, and then the 3pt hitch. So this would be taking power from the 3pt hitch when using the backhoe, but that isn't a problem.

No, because kubota uses open center, which allows the flow to continually flow through. Flow follows the path of least resistance so you would never get any power to the backhoe - it would always flow through the open center valve (FEL) to the 3ph and back into the tank. Sorry...

PS, I'm really new at hydraulics, so please let me know if I'm not correct!!! (but this is how I think it works)

So, the 3pt is also an open center system. If that is correct, then I understand why that won't work. I didn't think about that also being open center

I should be able to return to tank at the loader connection point, but have to connect to the power beyond after the 3pt hitch.

Thanks.

you might want to open your own thread on this... does the backhoe have open center valves??

I guess I could, I figured there are so many threads already, I will do some more digging to see if the info is already posted...

Not sure on the valves, there are only 2 hoses to the Bh so I figured it was closed centers but don't know if that is the case...

Here is the PDF of how the BH 90 back hoe hooks up to a L4400. The square block that the lines hook to is the block that your FEL Taps into. This may help you figure it out. It lo0ok to me like it taps into the power beyond port of the FEL and returns to the port shown on the block. No expert here though.
