Tim, you are right I screwed up on the tail end of this equaisan.
The .45 (.9/2) ohm and the 12 (24/2) in parallel would equate to .44 in total resistance. At 12.6 volts this would give about 28.6 amps cold. In a parallel circuit the total resistance is always less then the lowest resistor.
