I just finished reading the story of Tractor Supply Company (available at the stores). I think this group would find it absolutely fascinating. It is a success story of unprecidented proportion--completely refreshing to read about a company that STILL believes in treating its' customers AND associates right!

Yes, I have enjoyed shopping there for items that the old Quality farm and fleet did not have and have enjoyed owning their stock since they bought QF&F, I just hope they dont rest on their laurels.

They have already switched US made campbell chain products to chinese Koch products. Presumably for higher profit. This is the main line of items that I travelled the extra distance to TSC when I did not want to buy QF&fs Koch stuff.

I went to TSC for the first time about two weeks ago. Frankly, I was not impressed. They did not have nearly the selection of products that I expected and the quality of alot of it looked questionable. The store was also an unorginized mess. Are they all the same or was I just at a poor one?

We have one TSC in the next county. On my visits there I typically see lower grade brands of implements sitting outside, many of them rusting. When asking about the implements, sometimes someone might know about them, sometimes not. Inside the store I always have to ask for help finding something and sometimes people seem to know where it is inside the store. What they do have, is a lot of good prices on a lot of little parts that are 50% or even 75% cheaper than the local dealers charge. Things like lynch pins, top link pins, etc.

The thing that I find best about TSC is the hours of operation. My local dealers close up shop at, or before 5pm daily and are open 1/2 days on Saturday. No evening hours, not even one day a week. Since I live outside of town and don't pass by either of my dealers when they are open, if I need something I either have to take time off work to get it, or I have to go on a Saturday morning when I don't have any plans (which is pretty rare for me).

I have noticed a lot of cheaper quality products. I usually just buy bird seed, Dog food when on sale, and they occasional pin that comes up missing.
