TSC Landscape rake: any opinions?

Could it have been Hous(e) ? I think TSC used to carry that brand around here.

I just bought the BB, the rake will be my next purchase. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's Howse -- a product line pretty comparable to the King Kutter. I have a 5' Howse landscape rake.

No, it was not a King Kutter, that name I would recognize.

Actually, it was a King Kutter. I spoke with my local TSC today about a landscape rake. They do not have them with the gauge wheels. When I asked if they could get the wheels, he replied that he would call King Kutter as that was the their supplier for the rake.

I then called King Kutter to see if I could buy the wheels from them. I mentioned TSC and they verified the earlier report that, indeed, TSC landscape rakes are King Kutter. Furthermore, they sell the wheel kit from their parts dept and thay do sell parts to the end users. Retail price for the gauge wheels when buying directly from KK is $199 plus shipping. The 6' rake from TSC is $426.

I got a 6' Five Point, I guess made by KK, no gage wheels though. I've never used one before and didn't know what to expect. The neighbor wanted his horse pens cleaned and the manure spread in his garden area beside the pens. I had to back in and drag the manure about 70' one way then cross drag that out into the garden. That worked beautifully. Then he wanted his gravel driveway potholes filled in. I just kept duing figure eights and gathering loose material on the edges and pretty soon it was looking great. I think for a general use drag implement it's great investment. Go get the thing, you'll never have free moment cause someone will be pestering you to come do somethin' with for them. bjr

Maybe King Kutter makes them but TSC uses some other brand name on the rakes. I looked specifically at the manufacturers plate and it was not King Kutter (I cannot recall the actual name but it was not one of the big players). I guess KK does private branding for TSC.

The rake I looked at had gauge wheels already installed. Price for the six foot rake with gauge wheels was 627.90 including CT state tax.
