hey all: I'm adding me a spring seat form TSC, they had them for 69.00 last month so I picked one up and am installign it on my jinma 284.. it won't work well with my backhoe but it is only on a few weeks a year usually or less. anyhow it is pretty straight forward seems to fit nice and all. It has 2 holes in the right front location for the 284 but they are about 3/8' and the bolts in the old mounts are 16 MM head (about 7/16" bolts and use a 5/8" socket as I don't have any 16mm wrenches.) the back bolts are where no holes were so I drilled 2 new holes in the plate for mounting. while drilling I reamed out the 2 front holes to 1/2" for added clearance. the seat can be installed after the mount plate is bolted down but it also slides to reach the bolts if you want to un-bolt the plate while it is still attached to the seat bracket.

the orriginal JINMA seat is still in great shape - one dent from a over raised top link /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I'll keep it hand when I have to re-install the backhoe that or make up a bracket for mounting theseat differently when the hoe is on /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif anyhwo no pictures so far... maybe later.

Mark,
I am getting ready to order one for my bare bones Farm Pro. I was going to order mine from Homier but it looks like they are out of stock.

I'm not going to put much more money into this tractor as I would like to move up in size in a few years. I do hear alot of great things about the spring seats though. Maybe I should check out TSC next weekend. Were they on sale?

Spiker,

Yep, the TSC spring seat is a big improvement over the original hard mount seat. Your kidneys thank-you! 3pt arm can still reach it though /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif If you don't like swapping the seats, you could try my method: http://www.johnstractor.com/SwivelSpringSeat.html but, it is a bit more involved and more time consuming.

What prevents it from working with the backhoe. I've always been curious.

On the guilian /JINMA back hoe the tractor seat is set up with a piviot/swivel which is little more than a hunk of pipe inside a 2nd hunk of pipe and a pin runs through it. there is some sort of bearing in there as mine popped appart once when I left it set with out the PIN in which let the seat swing about a bit when I was setting on it and working the HOE.

anyhow for mine I modified my HOE main controls so I can opperate it standing up with out hunching over and this will/should give me a bit better control over the HOE anyway. (I did this a while back) JOHNS has excelent way of doing his seat conversion!

anyhow that HOMIER FARMPRO seat is exactly same thing. maybe TSC bought homier out? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif lol yes made in china no biggie to me so is the rest of the tractor.

Hey John,

I 2nd that Emotion. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Spring seats are definitely the way to go and in my humble opinion: "Don't Buy a Tractor Without One".

Get your tractors running &
Have a nice day,
Joe /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
