Just purchased TU 1700 this past Friday. Started right up first time removing it from trailer. Turing key to left heats resister to a glowing red in about 30-40 sec. Glow plug bar has about 9 volts across the bar. Contacted seller he stated full throttle then back off 1/4. Live in VA and weather has not been very cold to date. First glow plug would be easy to replace but other 2 seem to are located behind part of the fuel system. Will a inline heater or dipstick heater or help with this problem? By the way, I'm a novice.

Don't replace them unless they are not working. I install water heating devices on my tractors.

Thanks for the reply, I do have one question, with this tractor there is very little space to hook an inline heater. The lower radiator hose is only about 4-5" long and bent in the middle. The oil dip stick is 5-6" long, can I insert a long dipstick heater into the block?

They do a good job of heating the oil, but that doesn't heat the block & cylinders, which is what you want heated. i can probably supply a freeze plug heater that will fit your tractor.

I tried a dipstick heater today, it did not work. How hard is it to remove a freeze plug and install a block heater? Like I said earlier, I'm a novice. Do you carry glow plugs?, and need manuels for this tractor any suggestions?

Well, some times life is good, sometimes it not. Got tractor started today with the help of a Mr. Buddy propane heater. Ran for about 30 min, I got off and let it idle for 15-20. Started to work with rock rake in drive and all of a sudden it lost power, started skipping and cut off. I let it set for a few min, checked the oil, it was ok. It started and made it back to house. After getting it into garage noticed it was hot. Hope I haven't fried it. Seems to be full of anitfreeze. Any suggestions.

Sounds like a dirty fuel filter or gelled diesel.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I appreciate it. Could a fuel filter or gelled fuel cause hard starting and most important the tractor to run hot?
