Hello all,
First off, I've been the happy owner of my TU1700 for the past 6 years and have had no troubles from the machine. It does everything I need it to on my 13 acres.

I'm looking at buying a rear scraper blade to help maintain my driveway and am concerned about what size to get. I've decided that 60" would be best for my needs, but don't know whether I should get a blade for Cat 0, 1, etc? I have a users manual for a Bolens that appears to be the same model as mine though it only has a 1 speed PTO. The manual states the tractor has a Cat 1 3pt., but the blades in this size look too big. I have not yet had a chance to measure them however and compared to my brush hog.

Does anyone know the definitive answer on what my size my tractor has?

Thank you in advance,
John

It is Cat. 1. I have used a 6ft blade on a 1610 Iseki. It worked fine. A box blade will hold much more material and a 5' would do better. The 6' staight blade is good because you can put it on an angle and still get a reasonable amount of coverage. You are usually just scraping with the blade, or smoothing. It won't drag much material without it spilling out.

Thank you!

That is what I suspected as my shredder and tow bar are both stated as Cat 1. The shredder was mounted on the tractor when I bought it and I don't remember much about the tow bar other than I picked it up off the shelf and it fit. I stopped by TSC this afternoon and looked at their 5' blade. As soon as I looked at it, I knew it was the same size as my tow bar.

I have a 4' box blade I can use to move material, but I'd like to have the scraper blade to smooth it out. The box blade is a little narrower than I would like for trying to smooth out the road. Also, with the scraper blade, I won't have to worry about material building up in it when I cut the drainage ditch along side the road in an attempt to control the rain run off when we get our 4-6" downpours.

Thank you again,
John
